Good game,
Kept my lad busy for a day or 2 this, still likes to play it, he soon gets bored with stuff so this is testement to a good game.

Middle of the Range,
I have played more than my fair share of games based on CGI films. The majority of these games are aimed at a younger audience, usually lack quality and feel like they have been made on the cheap. There are exceptions, `Toy Story 3′ being one, and whilst `Rango’ is not the best game ever made, it is perhaps the best generic kids game based on a CGI film yet. You play as the lizard named Rango as he narrates a series of incidents; during these flashbacks you enter platforming based levels. You also need to rely on your trusty six shooter to take out the various enemy critters that block your path. In terms of gameplay `Rango’ is straight out of the lazy tie-in book of gaming; platforming, shooting, and the collecting of endless trinkets that mean nothing. At times the game feels like it was made in 1995.
However, to criticise the game too much for its basic gameplay is a disservice. It is easily accessible to younger gamers and I for one like the old school nature of this type of action platformer. There are also other areas that the game shines in. Graphically it is the best kid’s tie-in I have played this generation and is closer than most to the CGI it is based on. The levels design may be basic, but the levels are varied and the controls don’t fail very often – if you jump, you should land were you think you would. I also liked the world and characters of `Rango’, the voice actors are able to do impressive impressions of the various cast members – including a Johnny Depp sound alike. As you work your way through the levels you will come across a mariachi bird band that are always good value.
`Rango’ is not a great game, but it is solid fare and this means its stands out amongst other tie-in games. If plan to buy only one generic film tie-in platformer make it `Toy Story 3. However, if you plan to buy two generic film tie-in platformers make the second choice `Rango’.

Short,
This was a really cheap stocking filler for my grandson and lived up to its value. It was brilliant fun to play but he had finished it in 3 hours! Granted he could go back and redo the game and achieve more. I am glad I bought it as he enjoyed it, but I am also happy that it wasnt more expensive as the usual xbox games are.
